Gleaning Project

Join our LMNH Gleaning Team to learn about community engagement and gleaning techniques!

The Little Mountain Neighbourhood House Gleaning Project helps to feed those in our community who are food insecure and need extra food support at this time.  Fruit (and produce) gleaned is donated to the Food Distribution program at the Neighbourhood House as we aim to increase the amount and variety of fresh, local produce for our residents.  Tree fruit and yard garden owners can get involved in the Gleaning Project by emailing lmnhgleaningbuds@gmail.com

LMNH is pleased to work in partnership with the Vancouver Fruit Tree Project.

Salsa Making in the Garden

We made salsa in the garden. We all chopped tomatoes, peppers and onions from One Love Farm and went home with a jar of salsa.

Alice Mac of Canoe Creek Community Kitchen led us through the steps, and we shared our recipes, tips and how we can use salsa in many different ways.

Let us know what you would like to cook together in the garden. We are putting food by of our bountiful harvest.

Queen Bee Tea Party

We had a wonderful time at our Queen Bee Tea Party! We had a pollinator bingo station led by Lori, Madame bee Speaker. A butterfly pathway and herbal garden tour by master gardener Selina. And a pollinator rock painting station by Shahira. Delicious snacks and treats were provided by The Honey Shoppe, Silva and Selina. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this event!

A huge thank you to our funders, TD Parks People and The New Horizons Seniors Program
