This Week In the Garden - April 22
Our small group socially distanced gardeners did weeding, watering, planting early lettuce seedlings and cauliflower seedlings, and reinstalling the irrigation system.
Our spring peas coming along nicely
There are gorgeous blooms on the Fava bean crop planted last fall, also popular with the new queen bumble bees 🐝
They harvested more red sprouting broccoli, planted from seed last July.
Come see the blooms on pear and plum trees in the espaliered orchard and the spectacular display from our legacy cherry tree.
Small Group Gardening Sessions are Wednesday and Sundays 11am-1pm. You must pre-register online. Covid protocols and the safety plan is followed.
Composting This Week in the Garden
I filled 7 buckets with the compost at the bottom of the weed bin, then refilled and watered it! It will be spread along the woodland border…. Angela Hoy, Master Composter.

Remembering Monique
We are saddened by the recent passing of Monique Caramanolis. Monique was a garden ambassador greeting passerbyers and sharing her knowledge on the various types of spinach she was growing. We always looked forward to our potlucks as Monique would use the spinach to make spanokopitas. Monique was a key member of the garden, cheerful and always willing to contribute her time and expertise. We will continue to plant spinach in the garden bed, have a recognition plaque and a small tribute when we are able to gather. Our deepest condolences to the family, she will be missed.
