Recap: On the Table Dialogue

Thank you to everyone who was part of the Little Mountain Neighbourhood House hosted On the Table event at the Riley Park Long Table. Over 50 people came out to share a delicious meal using garlic and potatoes from the Riley Park Community Garden, and participated in conversation on important, local topics. The topics discussed were decided by the participants, and the notes were collected from the conversations. Please email Joanne MacKinnon for feedback or input on the event. We look forward to continuing the conversation. Special thanks to Michelle Huisman for the wonderful photos.

Recap: Growing Great Garlic

A garlic filled day was spent at the garden on Saturday. As a group, we planted over 300 garlic bulbs for harvest next year. We enjoyed a garlic themed potluck and then Master Gardener, Selina Pope, lead us through a Growing Great Garlic workshop.

Thank you to everyone who helped and contributed to this event. We all may have left smelling like garlic, but it was worth it and delicious!

Recap: Mad Hatter Tea Party

Thank you to everyone who came out for this very important date! There was a delicious potluck lunch, teas to sample from plants found in the garden with a tour and plant walk, and Mad Hatter hat making.
Thank you Anya for organizing the event and Selina for proving the garden tour.
