Filming for a David Suzuki Foundation documentary on a breezy, cool day - Sep 7 Guided Work Party
By Angela Hoy
Cooler weather, but a brisk breeze made for comfortable gardening conditions! Alex walked us around the pollinator border to show the effect of recent pruning on various plants, including the white Buddleia butterfly bushes.
We were accompanied by a cameraman from the David Suzuki Foundation who was making a documentary on pollinator gardens, in which were happy to participate.
We had a good harvest today, including plenty of tomatoes, lettuce, beans, the first leeks and an enormous quantity of blueberries, some of which were donated to the Little Mountain Neighbourhood House community fridge.
Angela decided it was time to turn the compost from bin one into bin two and was pleased with the quantity and quality of the mix. Fresh material was then chopped and added to bin one.
