We want to share the significance of the celebration and what it means to have Ramadan; all ages and cultures will be invited to learn about Ramadan and celebrate. Saturday, May 29 2pm by Zoom
RSVP to Silva silva_abkarian@lmnhs.bc.ca and she will send the zoom link
Ten (10) participants will receive a container planter as shown in our how-to make your own clip and PDF guide.
Our zoom call includes:
A tour of the Riley Park Community Garden with our Arabic Settlement Worker, Silva, as she shows the produce we are growing that is commonly used in Arabic dishes including swiss chard and mint.
A how-to clip to make your own container planter. Watch and follow along with our Master Gardener, Selina Pope, as she walks through the steps to plant and grow your own produce in a small space. A step-by-step guide with instructions is also available.
Cooking together and sharing recipes. Follow along as we cook three recipes prepared to celebrate Eid. We will be cooking Chard Fatayer, Dolma (middle eastern stuffed vegetables) and Baklava using pistachios. We invite all participants to share stories of their favourite recipes.
Activities invite all the community to connect, engage, learn and build relationships by understanding and ethno-cultural diversity.
Thank you to TD Parks People grant to support this important celebration.
