Pollinator Week Resources
Pollinator week starts Monday (June 22nd)
Here are a few resources to help pollinators in your community.
A native plant presentation by Selina Pope, A Master Gardener at Riley Park Community Garden. Selina offers a video tour of the garden and shares knowledge of native plants and pollinators (video tour of RP is imbedded in the link for RP tours).
A Pollinator Project handout (below) that discusses many ways how you can support pollinators and also a recommended plant list for your garden!
Presentation slides (below) on native plants that attract butterflies. This presentation was made by Selina Pope for the DSF Butterfly Ranger group. All of the plants in this presentation can be found at Riley Park Community Garden, and at the end of the presentation, photos of the garden are featured.
A great site full of pollinator resources - including a Bee Box, filled with hands on activities so you can learn about honeybees.
Websites that offer fun activities surrounding pollinator education for children: including DIY butterfly wings and a nature/pollinator scavenger hunt. Follow Little Mountain Neighbourhood House Early Years Program for more activities for children.
